The Dell Laser Printer 1100 is one of the most affordable laser printers on the market, designed to bring the power and speed of monochrome laser technology into your own home thanks to a low price tag, and manageable size. Laser technology is designed for speed, and efficiency, and the Dell Laser Printer 1100 makes no exception. This personal device cranks out an incredible 14 pages per minute print speed for letter sized paper, a remarkable achievement for a unit of this size. Inkjets of similar footprints would have a hard time competing. Even the setup is fast with the Dell Laser Printer 1100 thanks to pre loaded drivers that make for super quick plug and play setup, saving you time and effort on lengthy, extensive setup processes.
Print resolution is crisp, at 600 x 600 dots per inch, meaning text and black and white graphics will come out looking professional. A standby mode allows for a rapid 10 second warm up time, and, even from cold shut off, the warm up time is a mere 30 seconds. 2 MB DRAM of built in memory will also help things moving along quickly, and without incident.
With a width of only 14.1 inches and a depth of only 11.8, the Dell Laser Printer 1100’s footprint makes it possible to fit on almost any desktop. It also stands at a mere 8.5 inches tall, making it possible to squeeze almost anywhere a computer tower can go. Its weight is also very manageable at only 12 pounds, making it easy to move around if necessary.
A 150 sheet capacity input tray allows for not only letter and legal sized paper insertion, but also cards, labels, envelopes, and transparencies making for a versatile multimedia device along with a straight printer. In can also process input source material as small as 3 x 5 inches, the size of an index card, or 4.1 x 9.5 inches; a standard envelope. The output tray is large enough for up to 50 sheets as well.
With a monthly duty cycle of 5,000 printed pages, wear and tear on the machine should be insignificant considering its intended user base, and, even at high output, Dell backs its product with a one year limited service and support warranty.
Connectivity is USB based, but only for PC users, as the Dell Laser Printer 1100 is designed generally to be used with, and included with, Dell computer packages, and is therefore not Macintosh friendly. Included with your package is a starter toner cartridge with a yield of 1,000 pages, but additional high yield toner cartridges produce up to 3,000 printed pages.
With a 300 W power rating, and an 8 W standby mode, the Dell Laser Printer 1100 is easily Energy Star certified, which assists in keeping overall cost per page low. This, along with a very affordable start up price, and an optional toner save mode, make the unit one of the most affordable on the market.
