The 3115cn Printer By Dell - A Brief Consumer Review
The Dell 3115cn printer does more for the workplace that just churn out prints. It's a 4-in-1 machine that prints, reproduces, scans and sends fax. Additionally, it's flexible enough to leave room for upgrading, which can meet the growing demands of the workplace in the future. And when used with Dell 3115cn replacement toners, your prints will come out better than you would ever imagined possible.
There's a 400 MHz processor inside its case which has a body that measures 18.1" (W) x 22.4" (D) x 28.7" (H). Such packs enough power to copy and print 31 monochrome pages per minute, and 17 colored pages per minute. Print outs with resolutions of 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch) can be made, 2400 image quality. There's a document feeder that's automated and has the capacity to hold up to 50 pages, so there's no need to feed each sheet manually.
The full-color scanner (flatbed) is capable of scanning documents or colored images with precision. It may be accessed either plugged directly to a PC, or as part of a network. There's no need to worry about paper jamming or any similar setbacks as there's a big document feeder. This feature is especially advantageous in a demanding office setting, where there's less room for anything that can cause output delay.
Send faxes with the 3115cn conveniently even without a computer, as it can act as a stand-alone fax machine. Connected to one, you can send documents right from your e-mail with the high-speed fax modem. Again, since the document feeder has a 50-page capacity, you can do other tasks while sending multiple pages of documents.
A great economizing feature Dell has thrown in is the ColorTrack control tool. This tool enables you to determine access to the machine by a workgroup or individual. Up to 50 user or department accounts can be made, and each one of them can be monitored remotely via web configuration software. It's easy to enable or disable the printer, as well as set up limitations in doing monochrome or color printing.
Then there's also the Dell Toner Management System, or DTMS. This is a proactive means of alerting the user should you run low on Dell Color Laser compatible toner. Notification is done in three different ways. First is by means of the alert on the machine's LCD. Second is by means of any workstation that's part of the network. Third is by sending an e-mail notification to the personnel responsible for replacing the cartridge.
Standard memory of 256 MB is shared by printing (128 MB) and copying, scanning and faxing (128 MB). But to efficiently handle massive tasks, it can be expanded to a max of 1152 MB. An optional duplex unit may be added for fast, two-sided printing, while conserving ink and toner.
