Switch a Optiplex GX620 mother board with another optiplex motherboard?
I would like to know if i could switch a dell optiplex gx620 mobo (full tower) with a OptiPlex 960 (NOT Premier-Class) or a OptiPlex 780 and fit it in a gx620 full tower case and take everything off the gx620 like the processor,ram,hard drive and the cooling system and put it on the 960 or 780 mobo
my processor in 620 = Intel Pentium 4 HT 650 3.4GHz / Socket 775 LGA
Ram= DDR2 240 pin pc2-5300 total=2GB

As far the motherboards fitting size wise you should have no problems with either board since the cases are almost identical.
My only concern would be the rear I/O and if the ports will line up. I worked on a GX620 before and if I remember it correctly, it doesn't have an I/O plate and just has holes cut out on the the case itself.
Just as I suspected, the rear I/O is different. You might have to get a dremel and do some cutting.
