how big of processor can my computer hold?
i have a dell optiplex gx270, the processor i have right now is a p4 socket 478, 2.26 ghz, bus speed 133 mhz, reated fsb 532 mhz, and im wanting to upgrade it to a 3.2 ghz at 800 mhz, and i dont know if it would run proporly on my computer, can someone give me some advice. thanks
i found a 3.2 ghz processor that had a pinset of 478, if not cant i just get an adaptor that i can put in my motherboard that works for the 778 socket, i wanst really tryin to go the whole new motherboard cuz i just bought this computer

he's right..grab a new motherboard and proceessor..your motherboard cannot support more than 2.4 ghz processor.because 3.2ghz processor need socket 775 motherboard
