Lenovo ThinkPad T410 (Previously #3) - The ThinkPad T410 is a 14-inch screen portable laptop targeted at business users. IMac 21.5 inch vs Dell XPS?
Need new computer, i have always owned a pc and have had nothing but problems with them. Im considering getting the cheapest imac which is the 21.5 inch model (1200$) which has 500gb harddrive, 4gb ram, and intel i3 processor. But at the same time im looking at the dell xps desktop for 1000$, 1tb hdd, and a core i7 processor. From the specs it looks like the dell is cheaper and a faster computer but what would you suggest for an overall better longer lasting computer. PS i would possibly like to play games but not neccesaraly the top of the line brand new games like crysis 2 or whatever.

If you want to game at all, I would heavily recommend a Windows-based computer. Macs suck for gaming. Also, as you noticed, you get a LOT more computer for your money with the Dell. Macs tend to be overpriced because Apple likes high profit margins.
One thing I would like to ask is: what problems have you had with PCs? Because Macs aren't perfect machines either. They break. They can get viruses. They have compatibility issues since 90% of all stuff out there is designed for PCs. There is no guarantee that buying a Mac will cause you to have any fewer problems.
Now, if you just really happen to like Mac OS and want to run Mac-only software, then by all means get the Mac. But if your issues is that you have "problems" with your computer, then I would seriously consider getting the Dell.
