Frequently Asked Questions...
Does the Dell Inspiron 1464 Core i3 Laptop have an SD card slot?
I'm getting a new laptop and was offered the Dell inspiron 1464 for a good price. I need a new laptop because my gateway died and i've only had it for two years and it's my second gateway in the past four years. I need help to know if there is an SD slot for this computer. It would be a big plus if there was one. Also share opinions on if it's a good laptop.
Answer:
Yes it does, it has a 7 in one slot.
I have the exactly same laptop. I bought it a week ago and everything was going fine, until i decided to check the dell drivers web page. I saw the recommended drivers and i downloaded them. when i installed the BIOS UPDATE A07 the pc crashed and i have found 2 more users with the same problem. I WARN YOU IF YOU BUY THIS LAPTOP DO NOT UPDATE THE BIOS!!! DO NOT!!
If you do your laptop will probably die and your mother board will be fried.
Overall the inspiron 1464 is a medium range laptop.
Pros:
-Intel core i3 is fast, it runs demanding programs such as corel, photoshop with no issue
- 4 gb of Ram is more than enough to open high end programs
- It has a stylish design
- It has a program dock such as the one in macs which is very productive
- The laptop is very light-weight and portable.
Cons:
- Poor technical support concerning drivers
- Intel HD graphics is not that powerful, it is not made for gaming (i would recommend i5 or i7 integrated graphics)
-Obsidian Black style is a finger print magnet (you will need to clean up your laptop once or twice a day)
