Working With the Dell S2500 Printer
If you're thinking of working with the Dell S2500 printer, you'll find the decision to be a good one. This unit delivers good-quality copy at 600dpi, and it can use most available paper stock. Can I use a Dell recovery disc to restore an emachines computer?
My emachines computer got viruses in it that messed up my drivers, so now I don't have sound. I just want to start over. With this computer came a sealed booklet that says "Microsoft Windows xp Home Edition: For distribution with a new emachines PC only." But when I took off the plastic all I found inside was a piece of cardboard, and no recovery CD. I have another sealed booklet that looks almost exactly like the one for the emachines, except it's Windows xp Pro and it says "For distribution with a new Dell PC only." When I took off the plastic, this time there was a cd inside, and not just cardboard. Can I use this cd to recover my emachines pc? And why was there only cardboard in the emachines booklet instead of a cd?

Have you tried calling technical support for the eMachine? They might be able to send out another recovery CD.
I can't say for sure, the disk for the dell MIGHT just be a normal Windows XP pro installation disk, but it is most likely a recovery disk that will only work on a dell pc.
Go ahead and try the Dell disk with the eMachine, all that will happen is you'll get a message on the screen saying something along the lines of "this is not a dell machine".
I still do suggest calling eMachine technical support to see if you can get a replacement recovery disk.
