2. Memory and hard disk

4. Graphics card

This is important for people who deal a lot with graphics, pictures and illustrations in their Desktop. The gamer for instance will need a powerful graphics card in order to play with ease. My computer restarts on its own. It runs on Windows Vista Home Premium. It is Dell E520 desktop with 1 GB RAM.?
I have McAfee Anti-Virus installed and does not show any virus. Have already tried "Safe Mode" but it did not help. After you start the PC it kind of freezes in 5 to 10 minutes and restarts on its own. Since I have not saved any config myself and hence not going for the option of going back to last good known config. Please help. Would upgrading RAM to 2GB or 4 GB help?

Usually when computers restart on their own, it's because of a major system failure (i.e., Blue Screen of Death) and the system is set up to automatically restart after this. One thing you can try is to disable this feature:
Click on Start and then Control Panel.
Tip: In a hurry? Type system in the search box after clicking Start. Choose System from the list of results and then skip to Step 4.
Click on the System and Maintenance link.
Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the System icon and proceed to Step 4.
Click on the System link.
In the task pane on the left, click the Advanced system settings link.
Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button.
In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart.
Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window.
Click OK in the System Properties window.
You can now close the System window.
From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Instead, you'll see the BSOD error displayed on your screen. Rebooting manually will be necessary.
