Dell Or HP, Who Is Number One
International PC (personal computers) sales are Dell Inc. computers’ only concern even though they are in the number two slot. HP (Hewlett-Packard Co.) is the worldwide chief in the number one slot of PC sales.
Dell offered their PC’s at an actual store instead of their low-cost customary on-line or telephone only process in May of this year. Dell chose Wal-Mart as the happy retail in question. In every one of their 3,000 stores, Wal-Mart placed the Dell PC’s. After this, Dell chose to go to Staples and sell the well-known Dell Inspiron 530 desktops, and the Inspiron 1721 and 1521 notebooks. This new combination will give Dell not only the on-line and phone sales but also an additional 10,000 more stores worldwide.
The number one position is a serious competition since HP is displayed also at Staples stores around the globe. The rivals will actually be placed side by side on the shelves. In addition to the fight, notebook computer sales are increasing due to great demand of bringing fiber optic connectivity into the suburban house. There seems to be an ease with which folks are tapping into the fiber networks and using optical transceivers that include SFP or ones with Gigabit Ethernet or GBIC modules for short. This is what speeds up the internet process. Optical fiber systems may also be implemented to send out and receive digital television broadcasts and phone communications. Even though broadband tools or the assistance of optical transceivers which accelerates the wireless connection have been out since the 1970’s, the majority of home owners are still using dial up connections instead.
Part of Dell’s new marketing that might give them a slight edge to consumers, is the lead-reduced versions of its OptiPlex GX520 and GX620 corporate desktop computers that were shown to an encouraging response, earlier this month. By launching these new computers Dell is turning up its proactive environmental company image.
Dell’s earnings per share are at a record 49 cents with revenue of $15 billion and operating income of $1.2 billion for their 2012 first quarter. Dell’s aim to move into the number one position is almost certain, spelling out victory for them. All that’s left is for the consumers to choose with their purses.
